Le Concepteur or DrillDraw?

DrillDraw is software you install on your computer, used in 40 countries. Le Concepteur is a web app, built around the season. Here's what each one does well.

In short

DrillDraw is Windows software, with an iPad app, sold as a 12-month license. It's for drawing drills and building practice plans, in 18 sports. If you want a tool that opens anywhere in the browser, with a drill bank included and a season plan, Le Concepteur is made for that.

What DrillDraw does well

  • A proven tool

10,000+ users in 40 countries, and software now on version 6. Its drawing and practice plan features are mature.

  • The Hockey Québec collection

DrillDraw sells the drill collection from Hockey Québec's PIJE program: 198 drills, for $19.95. If you follow that program, it's a real plus.

  • It works without internet

Your drills are stored on your computer, and the software runs offline for up to two weeks. Handy in a rink with no signal.

  • 18 sports on one license

One license covers 18 sports. 150 drills are included, and the trial has no time limit — it just gets more restrictive the more you use it.

What Le Concepteur does better

  • Nothing to install, on any computer

DrillDraw installs on a Windows PC, with an iPad app. Le Concepteur opens in your browser, on Mac or PC, and your practice shows up on your phone at the bench.

  • A full drill bank included

With DrillDraw, 150 drills are included and collections cost extra, $19.95 each. With us, the 550+ drills in the bank and the monthly additions are part of the price.

  • Your whole season, from camp to the last game

Le Concepteur goes beyond drills and practice plans. You run your training camp (evaluations, cuts), evaluate your players all season long, set your goals and split your season into blocks, build your practices and send your playbook to your players. With drill animation on top. DrillDraw's site mentions neither animation, nor running a camp, nor season planning.

  • Turbo Hockey, built in

The method of Stanley Cup champion Stephan Lebeau is inside the app. Pick a tactic and see the technical skills it requires, their priority for your age group, and whether to introduce, improve or consolidate them.

  • One price, everything included

$49 CAD a year, everything included. A DrillDraw Standard license costs $69.95 CAD a year ($94.95 for Pro), plus taxes, and add-ons (logos, templates, goalie drills) and drill collections are bought one by one.

  • Switch tools without starting over

Your drills are already in another tool? Send them as a PDF or screenshots: we rebuild them in Le Concepteur for you. The price depends on how many drills there are and how complex they are: we send you an estimate, with the timeline.
